Engineering Assistant, Kilmelford

Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Marine Mechanic for our operations in Argyll. This is a job providing fantastic variety and a huge scope for learning and growth, as our fish farms rely on a wide range of equipment to ensure the successful production of our Steelhead Trout.

The Role:
Our key assets to be maintained include 8-22 metre vessels, a fleet of vehicles, forklifts, harvesting systems, knuckle boom cranes and feed barges. A focus of the engineering department is preventative maintenance, to ensure safe farming operations and minimise equipment downtime.

What We’re Looking For:
An interest in and knowledge of basic mechanics is required, but formal training and will be provided. Applicants with certificates and training in workshop equipment will be at an advantage. A hard-working ethos and being a good team player is a must.  

The Detail:
Kames offers a competitive package with a salary of £24,960 to £33,280 dependent on experience. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Company bonus, pension scheme, overtime pay, training and occupational sick pay are all available.
