Fish Husbandry - Isle of Skye

We are seeking a fish husbandry person to assist with our operations at Loch Pooltiel, Isle of Skye. Key responsibilities include fish welfare monitoring, fish feeding, assisting with treatments, equipment maintenance and harvesting. The ideal candidate will have fish husbandry experience and some training in aquaculture or relevant industry. Full training will be provided and there are many opportunities within Kames for personal growth and development. Candidates with formal boat training will be at an advantage, and a full, clean driving license is essential.

Kames is one of the UK’s largest trout production companies and Scotland’s oldest family-owned aquaculture business, with our core values of quality, sustainability and community reflected in everything that we do. In 2022, we won Best Aquaculture Company in the UK at the industry awards, and last month in 2023 we won the Animal Welfare award, recognising our innovative brood stock genetics programme and care we give our fish from egg-to-plate. It is an exciting period of growth for Kames, with a Future50 strategy seeing an investment in facilities, technologies, people and environment in the forthcoming years.

We offer an excellent financial package depending on experience, with a salary of £21,000 to £29,000. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with a 1 in 3 weekend rota system.
