Skipper - Heather of Melfort - Argyll

Kames Fish Farming are looking for a skipper to be responsible for Heather of Melfort. The vessel is an important part of the Kames Argyll operation near Kilmelford and carries out a range of roles. The vessel is based between Loch Melfort and Loch Craignish depending on what the company operations require.

You’ll be a senior member within our team, and experience in the aquaculture industry will be a real advantage to you. You will be key in supporting the site manager with all aspects of the daily on-site operations, to achieve the highest fish and team welfare.

You will be responsible for the safety and security of the vessel and her crew. You’ll need to be commercially endorsed to the level of a Coastal Skipper for this role. The maintenance and performance of the vessel will be under your control, you will be supported by our team onshore, to ensure that the vessel is compliant to the Workboat Code, all equipment is maintained and serviced regularly.

A full driving licence is essential. Candidates with further education in aquaculture or equivalent occupations will be at an advantage.

 We offer an excellent financial package depending on experience, with a salary of £34,500 to £40,500, plus the standard Kames reward package.
