Skipper - MV Shelagh Jane - Isle of Skye

We’re looking for an experienced skipper to work with our team on the Isle of Skye, who is responsible for our aluminium workboat site vessel MV Shelagh Jane. You’ll need to be commercially endorsed to the level of a Coastal Skipper for this role. Rotational working is available.

Experience in aquaculture operations at sea are essential, as you’ll be responsible for all site maintenance, grids, moorings, net-changes, etc. You’ll be a senior member within our team, and support the site manager with all aspects of the daily on-site operations, to achieve the highest fish and team welfare.  You will be responsible for the safety and security of the vessel and her crew. The maintenance and performance of the vessel will be under your control, you will be supported by our team onshore, to ensure that the vessel is compliant to the Workboat Code, all equipment is maintained and serviced regularly.

Accommodation is available in Kames’ shared accommodation property, in the village of Glendale, on the banks of Loch Pooltiel.

We offer an excellent financial package depending on experience, with a salaries up to £40,500 plus company bonus and sick pay.

Our site at Loch Pooltiel is in an area of exceptional beauty, near to the famous Neist Point Lighthouse in North West Skye. We’re part of a very active local community, through the villages of Glendale and Dunvegan, and you will be part of a close-knit and supportive team.

A full driving licence is essential.
